This Privacy Policy explains what information VLJ Construction Services, Inc. (“VLJ Construction,” “VLJ,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects when you visit vljconstruction.net (the “Site”) or communicate with us, how we use that information, and the choices you have. By using the Site you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
We are a Florida construction subcontractor serving general contractors, government owners, and property owners. The Site is intended for business audiences. We do not sell personal information, we do not run advertising or remarketing trackers, and we do not send marketing text messages.
Information We Collect
Information you give us. When you use a form on the Site or contact us directly, we collect the information you provide:
- Contact form: your name, company or agency, email address, telephone number, subject, and the contents of your message.
- Bid invitation / RFP form: your name, company or agency, role, telephone number, email address, project location, scope of work, expected schedule, approximate project size, and any details or documents you describe.
- Newsletter signup: your email address.
- Email, phone, and in-person communications: the information you choose to share, including bid packages, plans, and specifications.
Information collected automatically. Our web host records standard server log data when you visit the Site, including your IP address, browser type and version, the pages you view, the referring URL, and the date and time of your visit. This data is used for security, fraud prevention, and to keep the Site running properly.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 (loaded through the Google tag) to understand how visitors find and use the Site. It collects pages viewed, time on page, approximate geographic location (city/region level), device and browser type, and the source that referred you. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store individual IP addresses. It sets cookies to distinguish visitors and sessions. We do not use Analytics data for advertising or remarketing.
Information we do not collect. We do not run advertising pixels or remarketing trackers on the Site, we do not build marketing profiles, and we do not sell any information about your browsing activity. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information (such as government identification numbers or payment card numbers) through the Site.
How We Use Your Information
- To respond to your inquiry, bid invitation, or RFP, and to prepare and deliver proposals
- To communicate with you about projects, scheduling, capacity, bonding and insurance documentation, and account matters
- To send our email newsletter to people who subscribe to it (see “Email Newsletter” below)
- To provide, operate, secure, and maintain the Site
- To measure Site traffic and understand which pages and services visitors find useful
- To keep bid, project, insurance, and contract records required by law, by our contracts, and by public-works owners such as the Florida Department of Transportation
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security incidents, and technical problems
We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.
How We Contact You
If you provide a telephone number, we may call you about your inquiry or project. We do not send marketing text messages, and we will not text you unless you ask us to communicate that way about an active project. If you provide an email address on a contact or bid form, we will use it to reply to you; that alone does not subscribe you to our newsletter.
Email Newsletter
You may subscribe to our email newsletter by entering your email address in a signup form on the Site. Newsletter emails come from vljconstruction.net and contain Florida construction industry updates and company news. Every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also unsubscribe at any time by emailing info@vljconstruction.net. We honor unsubscribe requests promptly and in any event within ten (10) business days, as required by the CAN-SPAM Act. Subscriber lists are stored with our email delivery provider (see “Third-Party Services”) and are never sold or shared for third-party marketing.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
The Site uses a small number of cookies: those necessary for it to function, plus Google Analytics cookies used to measure Site traffic. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
- Security check cookies. Cloudflare Turnstile, which protects our forms from spam, may set a cookie inside its own frame while it completes the security check.
- Analytics cookies. Google Analytics sets cookies (commonly named
_gaand_ga_<container-id>) to distinguish unique visitors and measure sessions. These are the only non-essential cookies on the Site.
Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Blocking cookies may prevent parts of the Site, including our forms, from working correctly.
Do Not Track. Because we do not track visitors across third-party websites or sell personal information, the Site does not change its behavior in response to browser “Do Not Track” signals.
Third-Party Services
Cloudflare Turnstile. Our forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile to prevent spam and automated abuse. Turnstile runs a brief, privacy-focused check in your browser and may collect limited device and interaction information along with your IP address, which is sent to Cloudflare for analysis. Cloudflare’s handling of that data is described in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
Google Analytics and Google Fonts. Site traffic measurement is provided by Google Analytics 4, and some pages load typefaces hosted by Google; both involve requests to Google servers that include your IP address. Google processes this data in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy.
Hosting and form delivery. The Site is hosted on Vercel’s global content delivery network, which processes standard server log data on our behalf and runs the functions that receive form submissions. Messages you send through our forms are delivered to our office by email through Resend, an email delivery service that processes the contents of your submission solely to deliver it to us. Resend also stores our newsletter subscriber list and sends newsletter emails on our behalf.
Business systems. Once we receive your inquiry, it is handled in our ordinary business systems (business email, estimating, and project files), which are operated by established providers under contractual confidentiality and security obligations.
External links. The Site links to third-party websites such as LinkedIn, Google Maps, the Florida Department of Transportation, and community organizations we support. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which we do not control.
How We Share Information
We share personal information only as follows:
- Service providers who perform functions on our behalf (hosting, email delivery, analytics, spam protection, business software), bound to use the information only for those purposes
- Project counterparties when you ask us to bid or work on a project — for example, sharing your contact details with a prime contractor, owner, surety, or insurer as needed to prepare a bid, provide bonding and insurance documentation, or perform the work
- Legal and regulatory disclosure when required by law, subpoena, court order, public-records obligation, or government request, or to establish or defend legal claims
- Business transfer in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Privacy Policy
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy and to satisfy our legal, tax, insurance, and contract recordkeeping obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymized. Inquiries that do not lead to a project are generally kept no longer than three (3) years. Bid and project records are kept for the retention periods required by our contracts, by public-works owners, and by Florida law. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Google Analytics data is retained for fourteen (14) months.
Your Choices and Rights
You may contact us at any time to:
- Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
- Ask us to delete information we are not required to retain by law or contract
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in any email or by contacting us
- Opt out of analytics cookies as described above
We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of in that respect. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy law; we will honor verified requests consistent with applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising them. To make a request, use the contact details at the end of this policy. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Children’s Privacy
The Site serves businesses and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We implement commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and security monitoring. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send payment card numbers, government identification numbers, or other highly sensitive information through the Site forms.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date above. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice. Changes take effect when posted. Please review this page periodically.
